Alopecia

palvikaljuusAlopecia is not really hair loss. Hair break and fracture in the scalp when the connecting tissue suddenly cramps. Healthy, partially or fully viable hair roots remain.


Alopecia happens in different stages:
  • Spot-like alopecia (alopecia feature) is the mildest form. It is not detectable by eye but it is possible to find it by microscope.
  • Alopecia areata occurs in patches. They are small or rather large circular hairless areas anywhere on the head. They can form into vague bald areas on the scalp.
  • Alopecia totalis – Complete baldness and usually includes the loss of eyebrows and eyelashes.
  • Alopecia universalis - All body hair is lost.
